Case Study: A Basement Conversion Was Better Than Moving House
What’s more, there are many costs associated with moving that simply don’t apply to a cellar conversion. We listed them and it was quite revealing: Surveyor & solicitor fees, stamp duty (in our part of London stamp duty can be as much as £30K), plus moving costs and the price of a bigger place. Obviously it made better sense to look into waterproofing a basement and making a new room under the house than to move home. Continue reading
